Term 4 holiday stories

October 15, 2009

Back at school after the holidays for a VERY busy term! We decided to share some of our holiday stories with you.

“Mahina, go down to the garage and get your bike.” said my mum. “Where are we going now mum?” I asked. “You remember…I’m getting fit for touch. (If you don’t know what touch is, it is like rugby) Before we went for the bike ride my mum took the training wheels off my little sisters bike and mum helped her to ride her bike. Getting fit is fun!   BY MAHINARANGI DAVIS

“Woosh” went the big scream machine. Suddenly…the big scream machine went up and down and up. When it got to the top it stopped there. Then dad started saying, “Help” Both of us were scared. Suddenly a guy gave us…jumping shoes! My dad and I jumped off it and then we landed. What a circus!   BY BRANDON HOPE

I was excited as I hopped inside the plane. I sat in the middle and Ben sat by the window. It was very bumpy. It went up and down. My tummy went up and down too. While we were flying I had some salmon. It was very juicy. “Finally” I shouted. “We are here.” But my cousin was the first to see Rarotonga out of the window. BY EVE SMITH

“Where are we going?” I asked my mum. When we were all in the car we drove to the A and P show. I went on the dragon ride and a big slide. It was a little bit scary. My sister went with me on the ferris wheel. We had fun. This was my best day of the holidays.  BY AIMEE DAIN

In the holidays I went to Wendy’s. I ate a happy meal. It was tasty food. The chips were fat and my burger was juicy. I also got a plant.  BY RANUI MAUI-PECK

Balloons Galore

August 14, 2009

As I went outside my balloon popped..Luckily Mrs Mitchley had another squeaky balloon…But when it popped too,we went back inside because heaps of our colourful balloons popped. Finally Mrs Mitchley said, “If you still have a balloon you can keep it.” EVE SMITH

All the colourful balloons went high in the air.”Oh no.” I said.”The balloons were floating over the wooden fence. Now the dog will pop the balloons” Luckily the colourful ballons floated back. Suddenly something went “Pop!” It was Eve’s balloon. Excitedly we played a balloon game. We had to put the balloons in the middle of our legs. It was fun. AIMEE DAIN

Suddenly Mrs Mitchley gave us balloons. Mine was light green. It smelt like oil and it felt rubbery. We took our bouncy balloons outside. When we were throwing the balloons up,mine floated away. Finally I got it back by catching it in my hands. MAHINARANGI DAVIS

A Special Day

August 8, 2009

Our Teacher Aide, Kevin Main, has just completed his “School Based Literacy Assistant” training and today was his graduation. Brandon and Eve were our class representatives. Here are their stories and some photo’s of his special day.

Suddenly Mrs Mitchley said…”Who would like to come to Kevin’s graduation?” All of us put up our hands, but Mrs Mitchley could only choose two people. She said “This is going to be hard!” Luckily she chose me and Brandon. We went but it took such a long time. First a lady talked, then another and another and it was so boring until Kevin got his certificate. I felt proud of him. Then I realized I felt hungry and I gobbled up some food.First I had Salmon and then I had chocolate and marshmallows…yum. But then it was time to go back to school.
BY EVE SMITH

One day Mrs Mitchley said, “Who would like to come to Kevin’s graduation?” “Oh I do” I shouted. “Brandon you can come.” She said. I was so excited but when we got in the truck it was so hot. I rolled down the window but it was stuck. Finally the window opened,I thought it was magic. When we got there all they did was talk.”What is going to happen?” I said to myself. Then Kevin got his certificate. I was proud of him. Then finally I got to eat.
